Here is an intriguing question from a young learner.
Why does my car window fog up when it is cold out? And why does it seem to fog up more quickly the faster we go? And why does opening the window have the same effect as turning on the heat/defrost?

I recently emailed my brother in law Patrick this month's math puzzle "Around the World". Though not a mathematician, the man is a genius and solved the puzzle almost immediately. As an aside, he mentioned to me that there is a debate out there about whether pi is a useful constant, and that it should in fact be taught as 2 times the value of pi, which is the precise answer to this math puzzle!
It was just autumn in the Northeast, and the leaves were falling off the trees. How can we make the most of all these leaves?
I live in the city, so enjoying trees and nature on a larger scale means I must go to one of our many gorgeous, local parks. Or I can visit my friends' houses in the country. One of my close friends lives in Connecticut, and her house is surrounded by maples, oaks, and an occasional sycamore. Once her kids are done jumping in the piles, it means she has tons of leaves to clean up. There are so many leaves on the lawn alone that it is already too much for their mulching lawn mower!

During this workshop, we used the VISCOSITY SEEDKIT to analyze the properties of three liquids (shampoo, oil, and water) using the effect of temperature. Students were very amazed of the results, since on very simple things, we may find great discoveries. On this workshop, we learned that not all the liquids are the same, some are thin and others are tick. After this activity, all students made some research about viscosity on the Internet.
