At the intersection of Art and Science
I have a love of drawing that dates back to childhood. Creating something in perspective fascinated me from around the age of 10. I would take sheets of paper, a pencil, and a ruler, and try to recreate the different rooms in my house. It was a great challenge to me, trying to translate what I saw with my eyes, and transform it into something believable on paper. But drawing it was one thing; explaining why I saw what I did was another.
Home Sweet Home
Home took on a little different meaning for me last year - I was traveling back/forth between Houston and Gatwick on business training a new team for most of it. Home often translated into a hotel room at the end of a long day. What made it all bearable was all of the little things that family and friends sent to me: a picture of a child, a good book to read, music, and a lot more.
They say home is where the heart is, and that is certainly true. For me, I looked at those small gifts as welcome breadcrumbs so I could always find my way back home.
