Responding to Ask the Expert can be fun, often challenging. It sometimes provokes experiences that would have not occurred otherwise. For example, in response to a question about the usefulness of triangular sails I developed a kitchen experiment involving a large pan full of water and a garage fan. I do not know who had more fun, me preparing it or my children, well in their teens, laughing at my invasion of the family kitchen!
