2012 SEED Artwork Judging at Smith
On September 27, 2012, a group of the Sugar Land SEED team packed up their canvases and easles and made their way to the Smith location on Rankin Road.
For this year's artwork competition, we wanted a fresh perspective for the judging - and we were so pleased with the results. With 19 countries participating and so many beautiful pieces to choose from, it was an exciting challenge for the Smith employees to make their top selections.

Team Building while Starter Kit Building
On Tuesday, August 14th 2012, the Sugar Land SEED team (Carol, Carolyn, Chris, Iryna, Maya, Richard and Thierry) took a step away from their current projects to meet in the SEED lab for a GoGo Board Starter Kit building project.
Let's Play Outside
Jump-roping with friends, camping with family, and running through waves at the beach are some of my best childhood memories.
Now that I am a parent, I have an even greater appreciation for playing outdoors- cognitive & social development, excercise and stress relief are some of the benefits for children playing outside (and of course that it's FUN!)
Good Math Teachers are Hard to Find
I have never been a big fan of math or of math teachers. Both the material and the teachers seemed to be a bit monotonous.
However, there WAS one teacher that was different. She taught a fun math class- high school algebra. She was very poised, her classroom was fun and inviting, and she was always enthusiastic about the material she was presenting.
I think a teacher's passion can transform a classroom and truly resonate with the students!
Houston- Our Playground
Houston is anyone and everyone's playground. The eclectic streets of Montrose are the home of the wanderer: unique homes, old roads, and charming cafes. The nightlife guru finds excitement in openings and events of lounges sprinkled across Washington and Midtown. An artist finds inspiration at the Menil, Rothko, HMFA, sculpture gardens, and other sights for the creative eye. The familyman, scholar, artchitect and foodie all find an inviting seat at the table of the one-of-a-kind home of Houston.
