Motor racing facinates me alot. The vehicles used, the dressing of the competitors and the route followed are all well selected. The tenacity and bravery of the drivers in manouvering their vehicles along the bends are artistic and spectacular. The Paris Grande Prix is my favorite. The picture here is that of the Canadian Grande Prix.

My absolutefavorite sport is football. There is nothing like stappingon your helmet, lining up across from someone else and then being able to hit them as hard as you possibly can. Here is a picture from Tiger Stadium AKA DEATH VALLEY in Baton Rouge, Louisiana on Saturdays in the fall this is where I like to spend my time if I can get tickets.
100-meter SPRINT sport: my favorite but a frustration
When I was in elementary (level of education), I always join 100-meter sprint. I'm so much confident that I will win during competitions because of my practice. But it turned out a frustration because I'm consistent at the fifth place.
why oh why...
During my college, I tried to join once again, but still on the same rank ...
why oh why ...
BUT NO REGRETS AT ALL!

Never give up- keep trying! A wise friend once told me: "The only bad workout is the one that didnt happen"
Keep working on what you love- you can only get better. May take time but it will happen.
And you are right, God is good all the time :)
HELLO SEED FRIENDS
I am sharing you my picture of Playing volleyball during my recent visit to China, See the flying shot , just near the net is my brazilian friend CYRANO, This gathering is at the site of a Training course in CHINA , This is a friendly match s pic, non professional level sport, just for fun , exercise and entertainment, hope you all to like it,
All,
my favorite sport is called capoeira, Brazilian martial art that was originated by African and afrodescendant slaves in Brazil when fighting against the portuguese for their freedom. It started as a raw martial art inspired from african dances and fights, evolved with music and more dance when it was hunted down during the imperial period of Brazil (when the king of Portugal flew away to Brazil from Napoleon's invasion of Portugal). It has always been outlawed, up to the middle of the 20th century when the president in place aknowleged an iniciative from one of the greatest capoeira master (m. Bimba) to promote capoeira as a martial art and body culture "made in Brazil". From then on numerous groups have been created and in the middle of the 70s capoeira started to be teached outside Brazil, mainly USA and Europe (France and UK). Capoeira is played in pair, interacting with musical instrument played by a group of people forming a circle delimiting the game play (called roda). It is a complex exchange of kicks, deceptive movements and always in motion, hence energy consuming. I have trained in many groupd, the one I am currently is the one I consider to be the best, it is also one of the biggest with thousands of members worldwide called "Cordão de Ouro". There is a lot videos around the internet that will show and explain capoeira much better than my mere words.
I have started to practice in 2003 and tried to continue even after I enrolled in Schlumberger, trying to train in Africa (which, as strange as it can seem, does almost not know capoeira) and believe me it wasn't easy. I have been very lucky to be transferred to Brazil where I have been able to train where it all started. The picture is a shot I took from one master delivering a flying kick during one roda.
Bye,
Alexandre

Definitely the sport more I love is cycling, offering benefits through constant practice. Certainly improves the physical capacity, in that: compressed cholesterol levels in blood, body fat reduces, increases the flow of blood, bone consistency and elasticity
I was riding bike on Paris last March! I love riding bike and I do every weekend. But this time was different. I was in a magic place, going all over the city and taking all kinds of pictures.
When I'm riding my bike, I feel like flying! Seing all the city from the sky and feeling the fresh air in all my body.
It was a really nice experience..and I definitely want to do it again.

“Pole tap – turn, pole tap – turn… smooth movements and rhythm. Body is trembling with delight. Eyes are eagerly seeking for free space between trees as well as absorbing the beauty of nature. The brain (as the attentive and careful manager) imprinted such moments forever on the memory, analyzing incoming information and paving the way at the same time. Wow! The Mountain suddenly gives you a gift by opening an inexpressibly beautiful segment of descent. You are receiving it with an abundance of thanks and a changing trajectory. Exploded snow rushes along your face trying to find a way under your collar and to steal a little warmth. You ignore it and continue the dance. You are not on the ground, you are not in the water, and you are not in the air—you just somewhere between, sliding on the boundary... Ting! A thought gave you no peace like an angry bee. Awareness arises that you have to wait for your partner. You stop unwillingly and sink in snow. Turning around, you enjoy the sun sparks play at falling snow powder (disturbed by you) and the slender curves of the trail you just created…”
What is freeride? I have no exact answer. It is not just skiing off piste. Like any kind of sport it allows us to look inside ourselves. At the same time many kinds of sports are all about times and score, while freeride is not. It is very close to philosophy and art. Even if you are skiing with a team there is only you and the Mountain, so every descent includes creativity, work and relax, speed and control, and a test for yourself, etc.
I want to add that it is really difficult to take a photo while skiing because it seems nonessential. Between two options—photography or descent—you chose the second undoubtedly: The day is too shot and fresh snow like a magnet. =). So, many thanks to my partner for this picture. And one more thing. I was born and grew up far from the mountains, but they found me and settled down in my heart.

My sport "Canyon way down", some views of me and friends in canyon.

Cricket was originated in England and if you look around you can clearly notice the fact that cricket is only famous in the countries which were under British rule. That is Australia, India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka and South Africa.
But....that is not the only reason why cricket is so popular in these countries. The game of cricket had all the ingredients in it to become a excellent sport to play.
1. It requires skill and it's a enjoyable process to acquire those skills.
--------------------------------------…
2. It teaches patience and composure.
--------------------------------------…
3. Cricket is a good game to improve your social skills because when you are getting runs, your team mates cheer for you so that you feel like you belong.
--------------------------------------…
4. Cricket keeps your mind alert with deciding how you're going to bowl, where you're going to hit the ball, if you have time for another run and whether you can get there in time to catch the ball.
--------------------------------------…
5. For fun it can be played anywhere and you just need two players and a bat and a ball to play. It is harmless if played with soft balls
In the end........we all know how fun it is to smash the ball down the ground or to rip off the middle stump of the batsman.
Cheers to cricket.
I love this pic as all the players are waiting for ball...In India people worship cricket like anything but there a few who like football too.
Hi you all,
Thanks for sharing all these great pictures of sports!
My favorite sport is mountaineering, i.e. climbing mountains, with rocks, ice and snow. I love it because I love nature. Also, I love sharing this passion with my friends and family. My 4 children are all climbers, hickers, campers, mountaineeers! In the picture, you can see me in the top of a climbing route in Pao de Azucar, Rio de Jaineiro, Brazil.
Abrazo x todos,

The swim team from Mexico, training here in Texas 100 meter IM event 2012 Olympics Erica Dittmer.
Houston.com had an article on her achievement.
I hope my former student Erick, Olympic swimmer from Equatorial Guinea is well and watching along with the rest of us.
Buena suerte! Good Luck! To all athletes participating.

"Perfection is Possible" because slalom skiing a slalom course is a team sport on this Lake in Southwest Arkansas where I learned to ski.
A variety of outside variables have to be at a perfect level beginning with being an outstanding slalom skier. If I'm not an outstanding skier, y'all, I should swim back to the boat and put my ski back in its case. (30 years experience). Secondly, the puller must know what they're doing. In this case, it was my cousin pulling me on that lake in Southwest Arkansas. Being an outstanding skier must take place in freshwater, and cannot take place in MB (Mission Bay). Things float easier in salt water making the task more simple. The boat must have a most correct V-Hull to release the proper wake with most excellent horsepower. That's my aunt and uncle's Sea Ray.
The person taking the picture must be an outstanding photographer that also knows your style. This old friend
knew me.
A couple more most exciting parts of that day after throwing the rope. #1: I knew that was an awesome accomplishment!! Secondly, going to work in Hot Springs, AR, talking to my best friend big TIM (another outstanding skier) and listening to him tell me me about this picture before I'd seen it, "Duhh, you gotta get this blown-up."

I love wall climbing. It requires a big effort and concentration. It makes you go always further. It’s great for the muscles of my arms and legs.

I love rock climbing as well.
We have an indoor gym here where we can climb different walls at different levels of difficulty. I also tried rock climbing on an actual mountain about 3 years ago and it was such an exhilarating experience. Do you usually climb outside like in the picture? Does you region have hills or mountain to climb?
By the way, Juan Pablo is from Buenos Aires and it seems like Rugby is more popular there! Thanks for sharing :).
Maya
I consider Rugby a good example of team work, friendship, and commitment with the others (your team). You need strength and concentration. I don’t understand all the rules but it’s interesting to watch. A couples of friends do this… Rodrigo Saez from Neuquen (he works in my office) is a great rugbier.
Hello Maya,
Cycling touring is the friendliest way to see people and the amazing nature. You will be very surprised at the hospitality you get from local people here, not matter in North America, Europe and Asia. You will be asked lots of questions by the crowds wherever you stop, especially in villages of developing countries.
I have spent over 8 months on the road across Europe, Asia and North America between my graduation and my professional job. I would like to do more long cycling if I can afford the time now.
Take care,
Qiong
Every year, I take my students out camping. One of the activities that I look forward to is water rafting. Wow, I have to go with 'water rafing' as my favorite sport. It is so much fun. One can see it on each and every faces of the students. They definately love it. They race while having fun. Laughing and working out at the same time. The teams' skills in cooperation is tested. 'Working together works' is our motto. It's tiresome alright. But those smiles on their faces makes up for everything. Awesome.

Curling is something new for me and that's why it's interesting.
My Favorite Sport is Basketball, the speed of the game, the stamina, agility all these requirements make it an amazing exercise and extremely fun to play and watch. The fact that within seconds all the players in one team have to convert from defense to offense and vice versa make the game highly interesting. All the players are deeply involved in the game at all times, besides who doesn't like people defy gravity !!

There are many sports/ activities that I enjoy doing for fun like cycling and yoga. But those are not much fun to watch. One sport that is a lot a fun to watch is rugby. It's not very popular in the states, but with all the tackles and hits, it's super entertaining! My hubby, Juan Pablo, has been playing for years and we love going out on Saturday mornings to watch him in action.
My sister played women's rugby in college and I remember going to one of her games. But I really got into watching it on TV last year when I stumbled upon a broadcast of the Rugby World Cup. A friend went to New Zealand a few years ago and brought back an All-Blacks t-shirt for my son. It was a favorite, until he outgrew it. So I watched as many All-Blacks matches as I could. I kind of understand how the game is played, although I don't understand the positions.
This year I saw something called Rugby Sevens on TV. Smaller teams, shorter games. But very fast moving.
Maya, those are wonderful pictures! I think I would love rugby...if I understood the rules! Maybe you can explain them to me one day!
In 2007, I got lucky to discover the amazing SAILING sport where I filmed and produced:
The daily life and hard work of a trio sailing to the Olympic Games of Beijing: Fernanda Oliveira, the helmswoman, was competing for the third time, in the 470 Sailing category. Fernanda invited Isabel Swan to be part of the team at the prow, and Paulo Ribeiro as team coach for the 2008 Olympic campaign.
The anthropological approach of the camera and the ritual itself led the spectator to understand how the trio fights to achieve a mutual goal for their country and how they won the first Feminine Bronze medal for Brazil in Beijing 2008! Since there I kept filming this sport and discovering so much joy from it.
ENJOY the trailers filmed and edited at that time ;)
Fernanda Oliveira will be competing with another team this year in Weymouth during the London 2012 Games. And Isabel Swan (who is preparing for Rio 2016 with her new team) will become a journalist for London 2012 reporting the Brazilian behind the scene. Stay tuned!
Thank You for watching!
I wish I have the liberty to try sailing but it is an expensive sport around here. I just couldn't afford it yet. ![]()
My favorite sport is 4-way skydiving. The idea is that your team of 4 people exits the aircraft at 14,000 feet and you have to make as many predetermined formations (or points as they are called) before you have to separate and open parachutes at about 3,500 feet. You get about a minute of free fall time, and there is a fifth team member who makes a video of you for the judges to score the team.
All of the points (4-way formations) have names like donut, bow, satellite, etc; the formation in the picture is called a "Meeker" for reasons unknown to me. This picture was taken last year at about 11,000 feet above Rosharon, Texas (where the Schlumberger artificial lift campus is situated), where I was competing in a tournament.

I commend you for doing this, but there is no way I am jumping out of a perfectly good airplane. :-)
According to skydivers, there is no such thing as a perfectly good airplane.
Here is a video if you are interested. Please don't show this to anybody who knows a lot about skydiving because this is not the greatest 4-way performance you will ever see...!
Pretty AWESOME video! I dont think I have ever experienced this even on camera. After watching this video- I have a deeper respect for the sport- wow!
Incredible. It's like a dance. A few questions:
1) How much time do you have before you stop the formation and open the parachutes? How do you keep track of timing? It seems like you have a lot more time than I expected.
2) How do you control your directional movements in the sky? Is it like swiming in a pool?
3) How does the cameraman always end up on top? Does he just jump out of the plane after the rest of you?
Love
Love,
Thanks for the questions:
1) There is about 5 seconds between when we break apart and open parachutes (which you don't see on the video). We have to break apart and get at least 100m of separation before opening parachutes. It is dangerous to open parachutes when close to other people.
We have an altimeter on our wrists which you can use. You arrange to break apart at a predetermined altitude (usually about 4000 feet above the ground). However as you are very busy during the skydive we also have audible altimeters inside our helmets These make a loud beeping noise at the correct height to remind the skydivers to break and open parachutes.
2) You control your movements by "spilling" air off parts of your body (hands, arms, feet, legs) by tilting them and puling them in and out. The movements you make are very tiny so they are difficult to see in this video.
3) The camera person gets above the formation by falling slower at the start of the skydive. He or she does this by increasing their surface area by extending arms and legs or "cupping" their body. They sometimes wear special suits with small wings to make this easier. Once in position they decrease their surface area to keep pace with the formation.
Cheers,
Tim
That is awesome Tim! I cannot wait until I have enough jumps under my belt to go solo! I bet it will be a whole new experience. Thanks for sharing!
Whether you feel this is a great 4-way performance or not, it certainly got my attention! I was mesmerized the whole time...and happy that it was not me falling through the air! Thanks for sharing and good luck in all your future jumps.
You are a daredevil! That looks like a lot of fun, but I prefer to be a spectator in that sport!
Love
Cycling is my first hobby. I enjoy long-distance cycling as you can’t imagine how far you can go with a bicycle. It is a peaceful way to travel and environmentally friendly as well. Would you think of cycling across your own country?

Me gusta el Atletismo, ya que es un deporte tan simple que para su practica son pocos los medios y por eso explica su gran éxito; así es la vida si quieres mejorarla y tener éxito debes correr tu propia carrera y con pocos elementos.
My favorite sport would definitely have to be snowboarding. I know what everyone is thinking, "but Kevin you live in Texas." Yes that is true, however I try to make it up to the mountains every chance I get ( usually 1-2 weeks out of the year). Being that it rarely gets below 50° Fahrenheit here, even in the winter, I enjoy being in the cold mountain air as much as I can! What appeals to me about snowboarding is the freedom and the creative expression that accompanies the sport. Of course the beautiful scenery doesn't hurt either!
Click here to see a video of me in the terrain park at Durango, Colorado last Spring.
Steamboat Springs, Colorado (Jan, 2009)

I went skiing for the first time a few years ago. I loved it, but I hurt my knee (only a little). I see why there are so many injuries with that sport. I'd like to go again someday, and I'd like to try snowboarding. Looks like a lot of fun!
Love
My hubby and I joined the circus for one day and tried our hands at the trapeze. It was exhilarating. Believe it or not, the trapeze is not as difficult as it seems. Within a few short hours, Matt and I were able to swing on our own, hang upside-down, and execute a dismount flip. Matt was also able to grab onto the instructor's hands, which was really cool. The scariest part was climbing the ladder to the top and jumping from the platform. You have to jump in an awkward position, and the bar is a lot heavier than you'd think! Nonetheless, I'd love to try the trapeze again someday. It may not be a sport for every person, and it may not be one to do every day, but it is something I will never forget.
Here's my picture. That's me flying on the trapeze. The photo was taken by my hubby, Matt.
And here's a short video of the two of us in our circus heyday.
Love
Looks like a lot of fun.
That is awesome! I would love to go trapeze"ing".
This is awesome! I wonder if they have a place like this in Houston??? This is a no fear activity!
Love that looks like so much fun! I think I just added a new item to my bucket list!
Wow, that's awesome, Love!
Not that I am afraid of heights, but I have noticed that I really don't enjoy roller coasters, or any other sort of high action off the ground, but this looks so much fun, I would love to try it one day.
I also want to try zip lining.
Love ... WOW, that looks very cool! Also, nice video indeed :)
Thanks for sharing!
The favorite past time of people here in the USA is baseball. Here is just a few of the best shots I have taken over the years:
