Book review: When I Grow Up I Want to Be an Engineer

Paula McCann Harris' book When I Grow Up I Want to Be an Engineer is a favorite in our household. My son is 3 1/2 years old and we read this book together before bedtime. For each type of engineer discussed in the book, the author provides examples of how people in those roles will change our lives in the future. He likes civil engineers the most because they can create bridges between all the continents, which would make getting around the planet really easy.
My son enjoys this book because the pictures are fun and the story is engaging. I enjoy reading it to him because it might just inspire him to become an engineer. And who knows what marvelous inventions he can create someday...

I wish this book was around when I was his age!
That's right, have to start them early! He is so cute!
Out of the million books I have in my home- that is the only one I have not read to my 5 year old son. I will do so today! I do love the book when I originally read it when it came out.
And maybe your son's creation can include a garbage can ;)
Ha ha - yes! I think trash cans, garbage trucks, and anything that has to do with recycling will always be a component in Tex's engineering projects.
