SEED 2006 Annual Art ExhibitionGreat Enthusiasm in Vietnam for Art Competition
September, 2005 [Vietnam] This year when the SEED 2006 Greeting Card Competition was announced, all the SEED schools in Vietnam wanted a chance to compete. Even though the competition was organized during the summer school holidays, the entries we received were overwhelming. Illustrating the theme Deeply Rooted: celebrating the beauty of nature in cultural traditions were 95 drawings from The Childrens Palace (Hanoi), 3 from Nguyen Thuong Hien high school (Ho Chi Minh City) and 5 drawings from Le Quy Don high school (Vung Tau). The entries were divided into two age categories (8-12 years old and 13-18 years old) and the drawings were selected based on their suitability to promote the theme. A panel of judges short-listed nine drawings from the younger age category and five drawings from the older age category. Thanks to our volunteer judges Thaniya Lorlertratna, Leila Gille (SSA representative), Ms. Mai and Ms. Chi, for sharing feedback on the selections. The heat of the art competition did not end until Friday, August 19th, at a mini art exhibition in the Schlumberger conference room at the Ho Chi Minh City office. All employees were invited to view the SEED art gallery. Many people turned up to vote for the best drawings and enjoy refreshments. By midday, our ballot polls were full and the winners were clearly determined:
SEED is delighted to receive support from Schlumberger employee. SEED would like to thank all our volunteers in Vietnam, especially Schlumberger Ho Chi Minh City office administrators Ms. Le Lien and Ms. Nhung for their help in organizing the event. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
