SEED Annual Art Exhibition 2003 Welcome to our fifth annual SEED Art Exhibition. Each year children attending SEED connected schools participate in an artwork competition. Please come in and enjoy a selected group of 52 artworks out of a total SEED Annual Art Exhibition 2003
Congratulations to Alyona, Emil and Phan Mai who are the three favorites in the 5th Artwork Competition! Each receive individual prizes and their Schools will receive prizes of $1,000 (winner) and $500 (runner-up) respectively. It was so interesting to see the diversity of responses from our 30 volunteer judges. Each of the 15 finalists, sorted by age groups received at least one vote. Please read some of the comments we received from our panel of judges: "It's so exciting and challenging to be part of the judges. For me Cholipah's piece carries a message of global awareness - the call to preserve our environment especially in the developing world. If this vision is borne by the younger generation, then there is hope of a better tomorrow. To Cholipa, I say "Keep this dream alive". Ling's piece is my second choice because it drives home the vision of connectedness which SEED vanguards. To little Ling, You've discovered the best position (on top of the world). Please don't come down but get more friends to join you there." "Thank you for sharing and giving me this opportunity to participate in this competition as a judge. Amongst other criteria one important criteria I used was what is becoming more and more obvious and important in our lives both personal and professional and that is TEAM-WORK. Suwitda Srisuwan has brought this out beautifully with colour, choreography and expression. Phan Mai Anh at age-11 and Paritra Sirse at age 18 have also demonstrated similar ideas. My message to them is: Friends, I took great pleasure in looking at your artwork. It is of the highest order; what caught my eye was the importance of teamwork that was demonstrated in some of your works that is so important these days to achieve our goals and success in what we do." "It's fantastic!!!! Thanks a lot," " When I looked at Phan Mai Anh's piece, I could feel the dream of the painter by wanting to unite all the children of the world. This painting carries allot of true emotions, which are expressed in a simple way by an 11 year old painter. Denis Nadyrshin's painting reveals some traditional celebration in a cheerful way. The colours are bright & the details appear to as in reality. Cholipah's painting carries to me 2 themes. As it reveals the environment of the painter & his dreams. The painter combined reality & imagination in a very artistic way." "This is really difficult. Maybe in the future, there should be an assortment of cards in each box so more than one artist can be represented. Ok, here are my choices: Emil Mamedov, Sanil Bajaj, Wang Jia. I just love that flying horse so much. And to the artists: Thanks so much to you all for sharing your voice and your vision. Collectively, you create a beautiful tapestry of hope for the future." |
