Do you learn something new by reading about it? Or do you prefer to listen to instructions? Or maybe you take a hands-on approach? There are many ways to learn and each person has his or her own best learning style. Which approach is best for students in a SEED classroom? To find out, students at SEED schools get SmartWired.

What is SmartWired?SmartWired, Brazil, SEED, PlanetSEED
SmartWired is a SEED activity that helps each child understand and use their best learning talents both in and outside of the classroom. It also allows their parents, teachers, and mentors to offer guidance to help children overcome challenges. But getting SmartWired isn’t just for students—it’s for all of us.

What's the challenge?
SEED wants each of its community members to get SmartWired.  Knowing your own personal learning style can affect many aspects of your life in a positive way. For this month only, you can download and print the SmartWired instructions and activity cards for free!  It will take about 30 minutes to complete the activity yourself. Once you’re done, answer our SmartWired poll to compare your results with the rest of the community’s.

Where can I find resources for SmartWired?
The SmartWired instructions and activity cards are available for download and printing this month in seven languages:

                                     Download SmartWired in Arabic
Download SmartWired in Chinese
Download SmartWired in English
Download SmartWired in French
Download SmartWired in Portuguese
Download SmartWired in Russian
Download SmartWired in Spanish

You can also purchase a SmartWired activity set from SWPS or the SEEDSTORE at a 50% discount through the end of July.

More resources for SmartWired can be found on PlanetSEED and in our forums.  The creators and authors of SmartWired David Peck and Angie McArthur will be interacting with community members in the forum and in our poll during this challenge. Got questions? Ask them here!

Want to take it a step farther? Help students or your own kids get SmartWired, too!
SEED is happy to introduce a new online workshop training that will prepare you to teach others about SmartWired and how to unlock the full potential of the children around you. There are 7 modules that run 5-10 minutes each (available in English only for now).  Try it with the students and kids in your life today!

Are there prizes?
Yes! Every participant will receive 250 seeds* for answering our SmartWired poll on PlanetSEED. One participant will be selected at random to receive a “SmartWired Smart Pack”, which includes the full SmartWired activity set and a deluxe SEED pen and pencil set *

SEED, SmartWired, PlanetSEED, Thinking Talents, Brazil

Iryna, you're such a good listener on our phone calls, and so diligent in following up, I always assumed your first mind pattern would be an "A."  But maybe you're just really strong with all three... :-)

I was a VAK.  I like to make lists and write things down.  I take notes in our meetings because it helps me pay attention and it helps me remember things.  It made a lot of sense.

Ah, thanks Love!

I like to know what is going on around me, so sometimes I have to concentrate extra hard to understand and listen. It's definitely not a natural trait that I have.

Or maybe I developed that skill in school, when I and my friends would whisper with each other, and a teacher would stop us asking us to repeat her last sentence, which I usually could. I have a pretty good memory, I think, just have to pay attention extra hard and not get distracted (which I can easily do as well).

Successes are the most helpful  assets for me.  It was my successes in college that brought me to the good community of God!

I'm an introverted person.  My successes are my strengths in dealing daily life challenges especially communication.  I do hope my students will do their best, keep their successes in mind as stepping stones to further traverse the journey of life.

The Smartwired activities are very interactive and helpful in the development of a child's awareness of the community they belong to.  The activities allow the students to broaden and self-discover their own smartness.

SMARTWIRED had been introduced through a workshop by Sir Simon Lim, SEED alumnus from Malaysia last March.  The students found the incorporated activities to be good and amazing.  They enjoyed much the whole day.

Hi Rolando, Angie here from Smartwired. Glad you found successes helpful. I would like to learn as a teacher what has helped your students discover their own smartness.

 My best to you,

Angie

Hi Ma'am Angie!  Thanks for having concerns on our post!

When I was at the seminar facilitated by Sir Simon Lim - I listened to the interaction of the students, their answers to a particular question and other remarks.

Some of the students answered that, winning in class and other school activities foster more successes in life. Examples to these are winning through a poster and slogan making contest, quiz bee, interpretative dance and others. Their winnings contributed much in their self-discoveries such as improved self-esteem, power over the audience, and communication skills.

The feeling of being inferior in the group was avoided.

Cheers from the PHILIPPINES!

SMARTWIRED is a wonderful tool that allows channel strategies with our students to determine their learning styles and thus define pedagogical actions that are required. We promote the learning process using the resources that best suit the characteristics of the groups and thus more dynamic we strengthen knowledge

Recognize the characteristics of the students, in order to polish them what they require, shapes their skills and abilities, with more significant learning achievements.

Definitely an excellent tool
