2011 is the International Year of Chemistry (IYC). Visit http://water.chemistry2011.org/web/iyc/experiments for more information. As part of the celebration, in conjunction with the Chemical Society of Nigeria, and facilitated by Edu Inam (Schlumberger Faculty for the Future fellow) SEED will participate in the Global Water Experiment to conduct water testing experiments in 13 Nigerian states.

The Chemical Society of Nigeria has chapters in many Nigeria states. Each chapter has a chemistry high school coordinator, who will be responsible for the conduct of the experiment. The experiments will start mid-November.

The SEED schools located in each of these states will be invited to participate. Two students and one teacher from each school will be invited. We will have facilitators working with the students.  It will be a whole day's event and the students will come with water samples from their locality.

Schlumberger SEED contribution will be to provide 26 water testing kits 2/state: 18 Water Testing SEEDKITs and 8 RADMASTE kits which are the official kits designated by IYC for the Global Experiment.
