Child's day - Brazil

Hello SEED people!
Here in Brazil, the 12th of October is our Child's Day. The whole country stops and give loads of gifts to our children. SEED couldn't stay out of this That's why we sent a beautiful cake to our school in Rio de Janeiro, Municipal School Tenente Antonio Joao.
Our kids and young people were very excited about it!
Pancakes

Pancakes are a universal favorite with children of all ages. They are also mommy's best friend in making recalcitrant children eat healthy. The combination of flour, butter, eggs, and milk makes pancakes the perfect complete meal. All the food groups--that is, carbohydrates, proteins, and fats--are represented adequately, and the addition of fruits or vegetables not only enhances the flavor but adds to the nutrient value of the pancakes.

Dividing the Estate

In this puzzle, my friend and I were required to divide 17 cars among the three children of a deceased man. The eldest child gets 1/2 cars, the middle child gets 1/3 cars and the youngest gets 1/9 cars.
Our solution was like this:
There are 17 cars. Therefore;
1/2 x 17 = 8.5
1/3 x 17 = 5.67
1/9 x 17 = 1.89
We rounded off all three product as follows;
8.5 = 9
5.67 = 6
1.89 = 2
Grand total = 17

On Saturday, February 11th, SEED had attended a GEMS (Girls Exploring Math and Science) event at the Houston Museum of Natural Science.
Working with Kids

I have been teaching children twice a week and have developed a supportive and caring relationship with them. This helps the children to build confidence in themselves as they grow toward a higher level of literacy.
